Assisted Probate is the answer.

Let me take the strain, deal with the paperwork and provide the advice and guidance you need…

  • To deal with HM Revenue and Customs.
  • To deal with the paper chase of probate.
  • To help you by providing the hands-on help you need.

The death of a partner or parent is an awkward time, we have to grieve, need time to settle and work out what is going on in our head, and at the same time…

We have to deal with the admin, shift the paper, liaise with these organisations – and that is far from nice. Most of them are call centres and getting through on the phone can take hours, literally.

When all you really want to do is, phone some friends, let some distant acquaintances know about the funeral and cry.

Very often that’s the best thing for you and I to do.

After spending thirty five years in financial services and having to deal with my own family matters I realised that most of us needed a hand holding service when we lose a loved one.

Someone to help with advice and guidance, that understood the process the we need to follow, at the same time  provide local support when required. Importantly, the fees needed to be reasonable and capped.

  • Revenue forms and valuations done really quickly probate applications submitted in weeks not months.
  • Evening appointments if required.
  • All the help and support you need with professional guidance at each stage.

I deal with the Inland Revenue on your behalf, deal with all of the banks and insurance companies- all of the administration you are expected to deal withall done!

Up Until Recently…

If you needed help dealing with a loved one’s affairs on death and if you needed that dealing with quickly and efficiently and in a way that suits you. You’d have to hand the whole thing over to a solicitor and pay for it with a king’s ransom.

You’d have no choice but to potter off to the local Solicitors office, hand over control and wait for the bill to arrive. Often this ran to several thousands of pounds. If you have just lost a partner – then there is no need to pay these costs, the process is really quite simple.

A few years back. When some of my clients started asking for help and guidance I realised there was a way I could help but with dramatically reduced costs and a lot less stress.

  • One that keeps you in control.
  • A way that reduces costs substantially.
  • Stops you have to deal with the mind numbing administration.
  • One where you could have a point of contact to talk about the personal bits and bobs.

You do of course have a choice.

Lose control of the affairs and pass it on to a third party legal firm. Appoint another specialist…

Or keep control of the process with my  help.

      1. You won’t have to take time off work in order to deal with the endless forms.
      2. You won’t have to get together with a couple of family members and muddle through, using GOOGLE to work through the difficult bits.
      3. You won’t have to buy a book on the subject and hope that helps.

You do have the option of speaking to a couple of your friends and neighbours. Only to find that they also faced similar problems to you and found the only way to avoid the time-consuming paper chase was to hand the whole thing over to a local Solicitor. And pay a small fortune in order to get the thing moving forward.

      That is no longer true.

The key to all of this.

There is a different way of dealing with probate.

All enquiries are treated in the strictest confidence and with no time pressure.

Not so long ago the only option you had was to use a solicitor or the DIY route, of course the local bank was interested but as relationships soured in this area less and less work is being done by them. Partly because of services like mine.

Importantly the costs have increased massively in recent years.

      Commonly Asked Questions and Answers.

      What is probate?

      • On the death of an individual, someone has to deal with their estate (money and stuff).
      • Debts have to be paid and debts due have to be collected.

Probate is the ‘state authority’ given to one or more persons to deal with these outstanding matters (officially they are called Executors or Trustees).

The Probate Office provides a document called a Grant of Representation which allows the executor to deal with the affairs of the deceased, collect and repay debts etc.

This document is required to show the correct person or persons have the Probate Service’s authority to administer an estate. That’s it.

      Married Couples/Civil Partners Beware

Married couples and Civil Partners get a double whammy by the legal profession in relation to probate because they are charged by solicitors for winding up your affairs even if you have a mirror will and joint assets.

This means that the process of winding up your affairs is dead simple (excuse the pun) yet the full rate is still charged.

An average estate valued at £170,000 could expect to find in the region of £9,000 (plus VAT) prices compared in March 2022 (Dorking, Crawley and Tonbridge). With a little planning, and some help from me you could be doing it for considerably less.

Remember the term “GoodWill ” originally comes from the ‘number of good wills in their office cabinets’ i.e the number of Wills Solicitors are appointed to act as Executors on.

You need to make sure that your final will does not appoint a third party who is able to charge for their services.

The business of probate is an administration job, a paper chase. It does not need a bright legal mind but it does need someone who understands the process and how the financial system works.

Further as the Probate Office forms part of the Court Service, a public body they will provide all of the help you need if you want to go it alone – however if you want some help and want to understand the wrinkly, awkward bits – then let me hold your hand. You really can DIY
